Adding a video to your content is a powerful way to boost engagement and make your message clearer. Whether you're showcasing life at your company, interview tips, or simply adding a visual element, videos help capture attention and explain concepts more effectively. In this help article, we’ll walk you through the simple steps to add a video to your content using Connectr's Content Builder.
How to embed a video
Select 'Content Builder' on the left-hand side menu when viewing your admin dashboard.
From here, you can create, edit and publish all tasks that appear on the main Connectr site for users to complete.
To embed a video, find the relevant module and create a new task by selecting 'Add new Part +'.
Add a title (which you can edit later) and select 'Text and Media'.
To embed the video, select the layout option on the far right as shown in the screenshot below (the other layout options are for text only, or text and an image) and then 'Add video' in the Media box. We also recommend adding the video description and any complementary content to the Body box. When ready, select 'Save'.
The pop-up box will appear where you can add details about the video.
Enter the YouTube or Vimeo embed URL. We recommend adding captions to your video to ensure accessibility for deaf and hard-of-hearing users. Captions include both spoken words and relevant sounds. This can be done in YouTube and Vimeo.
Add a clear, descriptive video title that helps all users, including those using screen readers, understand its content.
Optional: Adding a transcript (for when there is speech in your video) makes your video accessible to deaf or hard-of-hearing users and can assist those with cognitive impairments.
Optional: You can add a brief description of the original video, created specifically for users with visual impairments to access the content within the multimedia. This is optional by default, but is required when there is no audio track in the video.
Finally, select confirm and save. Remember to publish the task if it is ready to go live.
